If you are looking for a team building workshop, we offer several options, as well as the opportunity to work with us to design an experience appropriate for your specific group!
Our team building workshops are led by one of our professional improvisers, who lead groups through a series of games and exercises that employ the concepts of improvisation. The exercises are taught in a safe environment that encourages the individuals to take risks to build on ideas together as a team without any one person having control over the outcome. Improv is all about collaborative experience, which is why the exercises are so suited to team building.
Contact bookings@unexpectedproductions.org for more information!
We also can include a short performance by a trio of improvisers before the team building experience, with content based on your needs. Or if you are simply looking for a performance for your group for their entertainment, we regularly perform at corporate functions and can arrange to do so for your event. For more on this, see our information on booking your own show.
We are glad to work with other groups or speakers. Our programs are adaptable, and our teachers are trained to adapt to the circumstances, space, and number of people on hand. Several of our exercises are designed to warm people up to participating, collaborating, or being receptive to new ideas.
We have done many team-building workshops in the past years as well as contracted with team-building companies such as Recharge.
Recent clients include Microsoft, GE Healthcare, Nintendo, and many, many, more.
Our exercises are taught in a safe environment that encourages individuals to take risks in order to build on ideas together, as a team, without any one person having control over the outcome. The skills taught include listening, "yes, and", playfulness, creativity and cooperation. As improvisers we create scenes never seen before; as team-builders we teach groups to venture into the unknown together, collaboratively using each person's individual strengths to create something new together. The workshops are fun and energizing; allowing the group to celebrate cooperation in a setting that is removed from the workplace and relevant to their specific needs.
"Our group had a great time laughing and team-building at our Unexpected Productions event. Every team member had fun. I would highly recommend it as an event to other groups and companies! Thanks for making our morale event such a success."

"This was fun and carried a lot of subtle teaching for team interactions."
"This was much better than a dry lecture on what actually can work for creativity and team interactions."
"We got to experience creativity and team interactions in a safe environment, with some simple and basic ground rules of engagement."
John W Larson

"The format not only was conducive to creative thought and expression, it also encouraged teamwork and self-reflection and allowed participants to apply the concepts to realistic scenarios... the only complaint I received was that the session (and the fun) should have lasted longer."

"You are a truly talented group - you have a true flair for playing to your audience. All feedback was outstanding."
