Once it was rebuilt, the theater was a large empty space used as a warehouse. The Empty Space Theatre company moved in for a couple of years. Then, in 1971, the Newmark Company transformed the space into a movie Theater. Cineplex Odeon purchased the Newmark Cinema then moved it to the Newmark Building in 1990. Unexpected Productions moved into the space, adding all of the equipment necessary to make the space a professional theatre. Unexpected Productions has managed the space ever since, making it the largest live theater in the northwest dedicated to the art of improvisation.
