Unexpected Productions is Moving!
Market Theater Renovations!

Seattle Theatresports and the rest of Unexpected Productions is getting a new home.  Or possibly two new homes!

The Market Theater is getting a facelift, thanks to the Pike Place Market Levy voted in by Seattle Voters.  The building which houses the theater is located in is getting a new elevator, and it means the Theater itself needs to be repaired.  We've been performing in the Market for twenty years, and if you've ever sat in our seats, you can tell!

We're getting new seats, we're moving the bar to the lobby, the lobby to the other part of the lobby, and the gum... well, the gum wall is staying put.

We're at the Intiman

UP and Seattle Theatresports are temporarily at the Intiman Playhouse, while the Market Theater is renovated. Seattle's longest continuously running comedy show continues to be the longest continuously running comedy show!  That said, occupying an almost 500-seat theater takes a lot of resources, and we're still renovating the old space!  Please consider donating, taking a class, or coming to see a show!

This is actually a homecoming for UP. Long time fans will recall sold-out crowds for Theatresports at Intiman in the early 90's. UP's managing director Jay Hitt was one of the performers who has been around long enough to remember those shows. "We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to perform there once again," says Hitt. "This will be a wonderful partnership with Intiman Theatre, Unexpected Productions, and Pike Place Market that will benefit all of us." UP's artistic director Randy Dixon added that the move wouldn't be possible without support from Intiman Theatre and the Pike Place Market PDA. "We appreciate Intiman's efforts to make this happen," he said. "We are also very appreciative of the Market's support and look forward to returning home as an attraction in the Pike Place Market."

Donate

There aren't many places you can go out these days and see a show for our ticket prices. Unexpected Productions is a non-profit company, and our mission includes bringing our shows to as many people as we can. Please consider donating to help continue making that goal possible.

As part of our renovations, UP is seeking to raise enough money to furnish bring new seats, a new lobby and box office, and other improvements to bring the Market Theatre into the destination that our audience deserves.
